Seatmates

Anne Lizbeth Joson, Anecita Andaya, Ma Christina Santilla, Marilyn Santos, Dempsey Cabrera, Rose Anne Gonzales, Alex Pineda, Roy Hipolito

These are the names of the people whom i personally know who are soon leaving (or recently left) SGV. Four of them are my batchmates whom I have established friendship with and two of them are my seatmates to my left and to my right. I wish everyone a greener pasteur outside the firm! I'll surely miss my batchmates tin, annie, roy and liz. See you at the crossroads!

Hmm.. sino kaya ang magiging bagong seatmates ko?

Sakae Sushi Experience

My back is in pain and I feel lazy.

I did not visit the gym, did not play tennis, did not swim, did not report to work, no exhausting physical activities at all.

So we rushed to Mang Inasal's past 11 am for lunch. After the meal, I took a long nap and gee, I woke up at 5:30 pm with a heavy head! My back is still in pain, i feel lazy and now I'm a little dizzy. Yes, I am an absolute bummer today.

So, to have at least one physical activity for the day, Me and my friend went to MOA for a walk and tried a Japanese resto named Sakae Sushi for dinner.

Me and Ken were able to indulge to yet another day of cheating our diets for Php399 (inclusive of VAT an service charge). The cost includes bottomless cold tea, miso soup and free flowing maki, sushi, and other weird maki-looking and sushi-looking stuffs. We finished approximately 14 plates and we guessed di na kami talo dun. Sulit!!

I'm looking at you!

Do you had an experience of turning around feeling that someone is looking at you from behind, and as you turn around someone is indeed looking at you?!

I have experienced this so many times in totally different scenarios and it's really quite interesting to know that I may have an extrasensory perception powers. Haha.

The latest incident was last night when I was asleep. I was lying on my side facing the cabinet, and as I opened my eyes feeling strange, I found that Reycres, my perky roomate is staring at me from the mirror. Although I can't be sure whether he was indeed staring at me because it's quite dim in the room, I can tell that he's awake sitting on the upper deck of the bed looking at my direction. He then suddenly flipped his wrist to check the time. Strange!

So since I am a slacker at work today, I googled "feeling someone is looking at you"

I found out that there was one study made by Mr. Rupert Sheldrake that discusses that it is innate with humans to sense whether we are being stared at. According to him, the sense of being stared at was deeply rooted in our animal nature and is widespread in the animal kingdom. This sense play an important role in predator-prey relationships under field conditions. According to him most people claim that they can made others turn around by looking at them. Interesting!

So it's not the extrasensory perception powers that I believed I posses after all!

Desktop clean up

While I am staring at my laptop screen to think of things that I can do to "look productive" or "make others believe that I'm doing something", I realized that my desktop screen is a total mess. Icons are scattered everywhere on the screen with little space left for new files.
I realized that I have been so busy for the past three months and now is the perfect time to tidy up my desktop. So I created a new folder where I can dump all my desktop mess..err files into. VoilĂ ! My desktop is pristine clean.

In the future, I hope my desktop won't be 'filled' with dumping folders with garbages in it.

The end.

Today is my birthday

Today is a weekend and
its my birthday. I woke up at around 10:00am and my stomach is empty. I feel the urge to check my facebook to thank everyone who greeted and remembered my birthday, if there's any. Haha..

During ordinary weekends, I would rush to ministop to buy two piece chicken for my brunch. Today is not an ordinary weekend but nonetheless, i'll queue at the ministop counter to buy my food. Since I decided not to visit our home in Laguna today, there will be no 'handaan' with pancit, puto binan, siomai etc. that my mom usually order from our kapitbahay Aling Elma.

Surprisingly, there are quite a lot of facebook birthday greeters and texters from my highschool classmates, club-mates, college schoolmates, relatives, dormates, clients, officemates, friends and strangers. I thanked everyone individually.

I realized that's it's past 12noon already and still have not had my chicken. Got to go downstairs to eat my 'handa'....alone : (

Nirvana by Bizu

Kentot, my super-friend and Reycres, my perky roomate celebrated the eve of my birthday at our rented condo. See those pistachio nuts on top? There's much more inside than meets the eye. Sarap!

Chilly Willy

Two months ago a very generous friend named Kristine Lou Guades a.k.a. Kalu handed me a pack of palm dates as pasalubong from Dubai. Up to now, I have not opened it yet and it's just there sitting on top of my cluttered table like a big paper weight. I really don't like the taste of the Chilly Willy palm date brand she gave me because it's so sweet and it looked like a crushed headless cockroach. I'll bring it home tonight and give it to Reycres.

Horrible mess

Early this morning, as I opened my eyes to welcome the morning sunshine and cherish yet another day of living-a-life, my mood instantly switched a 180 degree turn when I saw a horibble mess in the room. The culprit? Reycres, my perky roomate.

I wonder how can I influence him to tidy up his things without being offensive.

Reycres, my perky roomate

perk-y (pur'ke)
adj. perk-i-er, perk-i-est
1. Having a bouyant or self confident air; briskly cheerful
2. Jaunty; sprightly
source: http://www.thefreedictionary.com

Since I don't have a topic in mind to blog about, why not tell a story about my roomate who happens to be my officemate. He's not just an ordinary officemate, but he's also about to become my boss (unless of course bad fate chases him and he won't get promoted this July as our cluster's Associate Director).

Reycres is a native of Roxas City, Capiz. Everyone can assume that he is from that region in the Visayas because of his very very heavy Ilonggo accent which, according to him, is not so Illonggo. He stands 5'5" and has been hitting the gym recently to lose more weight. He claims that he had a gymfit body way way back when he was in Singapore. He recently joined our audit firm last November 2009 after he resigned with the same firm a year ago. According to one of our Associate Directors he can still be classified as a "new staff" in the firm since he has just been regularized last May 2010.

I remembered one of our several chat conversation over our Lotus Note Sametime® to testify his bouyancy, self confidence, jauntiness, sprightliness and uhm, perkiness:

Me: ang laki laki ng sweldo mo..manlibre ka naman!
Reycres: Pag napromote ako this year as associate director
Me: ano bibilhin mo pag na promote ka na? Kotse?
Reycres: nope di ako bibili ng kotse mahal ang amortization 18k per month...magpaparetoke ako ng ilong at lips..matangos na ang ilong ko pero..I want it perfectly fit..this December yan.
Me: Bat mo gusto magpa retoke ng ilong at lips?
Reycres: Gusto ko kasing fit sa muka ko gusto ko kasing maging hearthrob sasali ako sa PBB next season.

Need I say more?

Max's Restaurant Chicken All-You-Can

After workout, me and kentot were discussing the best resto where we can dine. I thought that a chicken resto is the best option since chicken is one cheaper source of protein. So I narrowed our options to Max's and Andok's. Kentot is a real foodie who would like interesting foods (this is a different and long topic to blog about) and he would honestly not prefer any of the two.

So we finally decided to try the Max's Chicken-All-You-Can.

This is all I can say to sum up my Max's Chicken-All-You-Can experience:

"Sulit!!!"
